My Job

My job is to help you with your clarity, consistency, grammar, punctuation, and anything else you might need. But I will not write for you, nor will I change your meaning to what I think will be better. My job is to read and suggest, but you are never obligated to keep everything that I might advise change on. Even though I am still gaining experience, I know that I am skilled enough to be a reliable editor.

I believe that all writing is beautiful and a work of art. It is my job to enhance the beauty that is already there. Whatever you bring me, no matter what you think about it, we can work together to make it the most wonderful writing you’ve ever published. That is, of course, until the next time we work together.

My Focus

I of course focus on grammar, punctuation, clarity, consistency, etc. However, I specialize in word usage, especially for adjectives and verbs, clarity, sentence structure, and spelling.

Genre-wise, I can go broad across the writing spectrum and can do both creative and academic writing. However, my specialties – the genres in which I have experience – include dark romance, fantasy, young adult, and literary essays.

I enjoy any types of reading and writing and will always do my best with whatever work I have been given. However, these genres are what I do the best in, so I might not be the best fit for the style and or specialty of editing that your writing requires.

Credentials

I currently have a High School Diploma and am working towards a bachelor’s degree in Writing, Editing, and Publishing. In the future, I plan to get an associate degree in writing and obtain an editing certificate.

I have experience in story writing and academic writing, especially literary essays. I have always loved reading, especially the genres that I specialize in, and therefore feel as though I have a certain level of expertise in the topic.

I have experience editing in a college editing course, peer-reviews, and free-lance editing and proofreading for friends that enjoy writing. I also have a lot of experience when it comes to the author’s perspective, as I have often written both fictional stories and academic papers.
